College fashion learners offer to create Kate’s dress goes down well at the palace
A Leicester College Fashion learner received a reply from Clarence House after offering to design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. Barbara Jones wrote a cheeky letter to Kate Middleton with her proposition.
Although Clarence House politely declined the offer, Barbara was delighted to receive the letter and will be running an expert eye over the dress when the wedding is broadcast on 29 April.
The BTEC National Diploma in Fashion learner said: “I’ve found my vocation in studying fashion design and wrote the letter because I thought I’d be as good as anyone else. I saw it as good publicity for the College, and all the tutors said they would help with the design.
“I think Kate will wear something elegant but understated, I’m a big fan.”
