Choosing a course at the College
Before applying to the College, we recommend you speak to a careers advisor to help you make the right choice. When you have decided on what you want to study, you should check the section “What Entry Qualifications do I Need?” in the course information and select the right level of course.
Applying through LeCAP
If you are a learner in a Leicester city or Leicestershire school, you can apply using LeCAP (print or electronic). You will require a username and password from your school to access the electronic form. More detailed information on LeCAP can be found on the Connexions website.
Applying direct to Leicester College
- If you are not a learner in a Leicester city or Leicestershire school you can apply using the Leicester College Online Application Form or the

What we will do:
- We will acknowledge receipt of your application form.
- Interviews: For all our full-time courses, we will ask you to attend an interview (subject to places being available). You will have a chance to talk about the course and why you are interested in it. You will be expected to show a commitment to study and an interest in the course. Where there are specific assessment activities during the interview, you will receive information once you apply.
- After interview we will write to let you know if you have been successful in securing a place on your chosen course. Offers are made from February onwards.
- If you have been successful, you must return the reply slip accepting or rejecting the offer of a place.
- We will invite you for an initial assessment.
- A few weeks before you start on the course, we will send you a letter giving details of when to enrol. This will normally be before the date you start College.
- Prior to your course starting, your curriculum area will contact you explaining the arrangements for your first day at College.
Leicester College is a popular place to study and we advise you to apply as early as possible to ensure that the course you are interested in is not full, and you are not disappointed.
For most courses there are specific entry requirements. However, if you do not meet the requirements for your chosen course please ask for an appointment with one of our Careers Advisers to discuss other options that may be available.
When making an assessment on your suitability for a course, we also take into consideration your willingness to take responsibility for learning and for meeting the terms of your learning contract with us, for example, attendance and completion of work to agreed deadlines.
