Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) CheckFeedback

Offers of work placements on relevant College courses are conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced CRB Disclosure. You will not be able to start your work placement until you have this.

This Disclosure provides details of a person’s criminal record including convictions, cautions, reprimands held on the Police National Computer and information held by local police forces.

It may also include information held by the Department for Education (DFE) of those considered unsuitable or banned from working with children and under the Protection of Children Act list (POCA) the Protection of Vulnerable Adults list (POVA).

In exceptional circumstances only, on receipt of a completed disclosure application form and supporting documents, placements may commence before CRB checks have been completed.

Disclosure of a criminal record, pending prosecution and other relevant information may not bar you from the course. It will depend on the nature of the position, the background of offences and other relevant information. The most important thing is that you disclose all your criminal record to the Risk Assessment team.

Failure to declare convictions, cautions or pending prosecutions may disqualify you from attendance or result in disciplinary action which could lead to expulsion if the discrepancy comes to light after you start the course. If you are unsure, contact the risk Assessment Team on 0116 224 2225.
