About Fashion Courses

View all Fashion courses

From learning basic fashion techniques to seeing your designs on the catwalk, our fashion courses cover all aspects of the fashion business.

Our Fashion learners have found work in the West End, made costumes for plays and musicals and designed outfits for blockbuster movies.

There is also an annual Leicester College fashion show, held at a city centre venue, where you are able to display designs to your peers and a selection of industry specialists.

We can offer you a full range of courses including design, Computer Aided Design (CAD), computerised pattern cutting, product development, trend forecasting, buying, retail, import and export opportunities and marketing through to courses such as the PDC in Fashion - Computer Aided Design/Manufacture (CAD-CAM).

Leicester College is home to the International School of Footwear, a World Centre of Excellence. Subjects covered include design and product development, footwear and component manufacture and much more. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a footwear specific Computer Aided Design suite with four of the world's leading computer aided design systems (USM, Procam, Crispin and Shoemaster). There are also facilities available for 2D and 3D digitisation, cutting, plotting and printing.

These facilities are complemented by workshops with computerised making machines, including auto-stitching, roughing, cementing and lasting machines.

"The course has been an eye opener. It has allowed me to have a better understanding of the whole process of garment making. The opportunities for further study are much greater in the UK. You are never too old to learn and make a new start."
