About Footwear Courses |
![]() Footwear courses at Leicester College allow learners to progress into the footwear manufacturing and the footwear retail business both in Britain and overseas. We work closely with retailers and manufacturers such as Clarks, Brantano and Stead and Simpson linking learners with the national and international footwear industry. There are also opportunities to set up your own footwear design business, alternatively successful learners can also progress onto the BA (Honours) Footwear Design course at De Montfort University. The International School of Footwear at Leicester College has a reputation for training for careers in the global footwear industry. The College is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in footwear technology and has a fully equipped footwear workshop. We also have the latest state-of-the-art technology available for design, including a footwear specific computer aided design (CAD) suite with the world’s leading CAD systems. You are encouraged to have hands-on experience in designing and making, which means you will be fully qualified and experienced when you begin your career. Each year, learners on footwear courses attend one of the major European footwear exhibitions in Paris, Dusseldorf, Florence or Bologna. We also have Associate Footwear International schools in Turkey, India and Japan. |
