Whether you are a school-leaver, looking to kick-start a new career, or simply wanting to develop a new hobby, why not visit Leicester College Open Day to see what is on offer? Leicester College will be throwing its doors open to people of all ages on 27 November 2008, from 1pm until 7.30pm. There are a wide variety of courses on offer, from vocational or academic courses, full or part-time. Leicester College welcomes people from all backgrounds, whether you are a school leaver or a mature student with family and work commitments, everybody is welcome. All three College campuses, including the brand new state of the art Abbey Park Campus will be open to visitors to take a tour of the extensive facilities and meet a wide range of specialist staff. A courtesy bus service will also ferry prospective learners from campus to campus free of charge. Throughout the day visitors will be able to take part in and enjoy a wide range of demonstrations and workshops including a design competition in the fashion and footwear department, opportunities to try your hand at plastering or painting and decorating, drama workshops, childcare, dance and music, hair and cooking demonstrations. College Principal Maggie Galliers said,” Society is becoming increasingly aware that further education is vital in helping people realise their goals, to give a career boost or for individual development. With the completion of a £44 million transformation of facilities, this is just one of the ways the College has committed to investing in the futures of those that walk through its doors. “We have a reputation, both locally and nationally, for offering courses we think reflect the current and future trends of industry and commerce and we welcome all the students who choose to study with us each year.” |
