Rooftop gig to showcase talents

Leicester College learners took to the Abbey Park Campus roof for a one-off gig on Wednesday 14 July 2010.

The Performing Arts learners performed an exclusive 20-minute set to kick off the college's summer campaign to recruit new learners.
Michael Vickers, 18, and Adrian Byrne, 21 – known as ‘Broken Fanclub’ – performed the acoustic set to almost 40 spectators.

Leicester College Marketing Communications Manager, Lesley Pilling said: “We are celebrating learners aspirations and ambitions as part of our summer campaign, and we had a gig to celebrate two of our music learners who want to be rock stars, and we made them rock stars for the day.”

Michael said: "If I had seen something like a rooftop gig, it would have really made me want to go to the college. It was something special when we were up there."
