Nathan Lord - Electrical Installation Level 3

Nathan decided to take this course after school as he wanted the qualification to fall back on. As well as studying this course, he helps his dad, a freelance electrician with his work re-wiring houses and garages, moving sockets and installing lights.

On completing the course he would like to carry on studying at university level and go into electrical engineering or lighting design. He said: “I’ve learnt Health and Safety for all trades, about risk assessments, the PASMA scaffolding qualification, and Part P through taking this course. It gives you prospects to go on and do lots of types of roles and it opens up doors for you. There is a lot more that you can do other than electrics from being a technician to pylon worker, and you can go into process engineering to electronics.”
