Financial Accounting Co-ordinator
Steve originally planned to go to university after completing A Levels in July 2004, and had been accepted onto a Business and Finance degree course at De Montfort University. However, during that summer, he was made aware of the Modern Apprenticeship in Finance at Leicester College. He was successful in his application and shortly afterwards, enrolled on the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) course at the College, studying on a day release basis.
He then went on to gain a temporary then permanent position as an Assistant Management Accountant at Leicester College and later going on to study for the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting qualification to become a chartered accountant.
In January 2010, Steve started a new position as Financial Accounting Co-ordinator and now is considering studying a Masters Degree.
He says, “Completing both the AAT and CIMA qualifications have benefited me greatly. Completing both of these courses has been a major factor in the success that I have achieved in my career to date, and without them I would not have been appointed to the position of Financial Accounting Co-ordinator.”
