Finding Somewhere to Live

Leicester College does not have any of its own student accommodation, but the International Office is on hand to help learners aged 18 and over find suitable accommodation while studying at the College.

The following types of accommodation are popular with learners studying in Leicester:

Halls of Residence

Large buildings split into shared living areas with kitchen and bathroom. Each unit has four to six separate bedrooms that come equipped with the basic furniture. These cost £50 to £85 per week and usually include water, gas and electricity bills.

Shared Private Houses

Your basic house usually shared between three to four students. The lounge, kitchen and bathroom are shared and each student has their own bedroom. These cost between £50 to £60 a week, but this does not include charges for electricity, water or gas.

Shared House with a Family

You would share a house with the owner where you would have your own bedroom and have access to other facilities. The cost is approximately £85 per week and this usually includes all charges except food, although food is sometimes included.

Private Accommodation

There is plenty of private accommodation either houses or apartment available for rent in Leicester. The cost can be anywhere between £350 to £700 for a small house or a one bedroom apartment. This does not include other charges such as water, electricity, gas or council tax.
