Josephine Mclean - NVQ level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety

Josephine Mclean - NVQ level 3
Occupational Health and Safety

Josephine is employed by Leicestershire County Council as a Deputy Manager of an elderly persons’ home. During her career she has been delegated lead responsibility for Health and Safety and wanted to gain the skills to enable her to move forward in this area. She now wants to progress to take the NVQ level 4.

"I continue to take lead responsibility for Health and Safety, but with more knowledge and skills at my disposal," said Josephine. "Even at my age you still learn something new every day and as a manager I actively encourage all staff to enhance their skills and knowledge and would like to think I achieve this by example."

She added: "During the course my tutor was encouraging and supportive at every stage. My mother died unexpectedly at this time, and my tutor was considerate, patient, understanding and never wavered in support."
