Apply International

You can apply for a place on a course for the next academic year from December to July each year (although in certain circumstances we will consider late applications). Courses are very popular and you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Higher National Diploma (HND) and Degree Level Courses

Applications for HND and Degree level courses must be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions System (UCAS). Applications must be made online, see www.ucas.com for more information. For assistance call Customer Services on +44 870 112 2211, open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm (UK time).

Full-time courses (16 hours or more)

To apply for a full-time course at Leicester College you should complete an application form (available in the full-time course guide). With this you should enclose:

  • copies of your academic certificate(s)
  • evidence of English Language qualifications – either International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band 6 or above, or Teaching of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) – 500 points or above for paper based, 250 points or above for computer based, or GCSE English
  • a reference from your previous institution if you are currently residing within the UK.

If you are aged between 16 and 18, it is mandatory for you to have a legal guardian in the UK. It is the parents' responsibility for agreeing any necessary arrangements directly with the guardian. A guardian carries out the roles of the parents as delegated by them, such as consenting to a child's medical treatment in an emergency, etc. (This does not mean guardian within the meaning of section 5 Children Act 1989).

On receipt of your application a Careers Advisor will assess your academic qualifications before your application is assessed by the Course Tutor.

If your application is successful you will be sent a provisional offer letter and a reply slip, together with the Financial Guarantee Form, which needs to be completed by a parent, guardian, sponsor or employer. You must return the reply slip to the College, together with a deposit of £1,500 as soon as possible. This will ensure the final offer letter can be sent to you and will assist with your application for a student visa. The rest of the course fees are payable on enrolment. If you are unable to pay the whole amount, you can request an instalment plan, which is arranged by the Registration Office. Under the plan, you can pay course fees in two equal instalments, the first in September and the second in October.

Remember to apply as soon as possible to secure your place. If you wish to speak to somebody directly regarding International Student issues you can call our Overseas Students Advice Centre on +44 116 224 4111.
