Leicester College provides training in 200 outreach venues, where education is taken into the heart of the city’s different communities. Leicester College training and courses are accessible almost anywhere, from a local community centre to one of the College’s specialist Outreach Centres. BelgraveRoss Walk Training Centre (Map)Courses and Training: ESOL You have told us you prefer to learn on your own doorstep, in an environment you feel comfortable in and with people you are familiar with. Ross Walk is just that sort of place. The building may be new, and a fantastic place to learn but it is the warm welcome and support we give to the local learners that we are most proud of. The team will listen to what you want to do, help you achieve it, and give you plenty of encouragement and help. The centre is a great place to meet with friends, make new ones and build up your confidence. BraunstoneOpen Learning Centre (Map)Courses and Training: ABE Do you want to learn but can’t commit to regular hours? Would you like a job but don’t have the basic skills needed? Or do you just want to improve your maths or English? Braunstone Open Learning Centre could be for you. Rather than a school or college, the Centre is a place you can come and go as you please. It’s essentially a walk-in centre where you can talk to one of our team about what you want to do in the future. Our friendly team will give you lots of ideas and guidance as to what you could be doing at the Centre. If you like what you hear, you’ll be given total support to achieve your goals. The Centre team likes to work around you, to make your life easier. Remember, just pop in for a chat and see what we can do for you. EvingtonLeicester Open Distance Learning Centre (Map)Courses and Training: ABE The Open Learning Centre on Evington Road helps adults to improve their maths and English so that they can develop the skills they need to go on to other courses, get a job or just deal with maths and English in everyday life. The Centre is open from Monday to Saturday and is very popular. If you want to talk to a member of our friendly staff about your English and maths please just pop in. FrithThe Frith Outreach Centre offers a Person Centred Curriculum to learners with Profound and Complex Needs. There is an impressive range of facilities which enables participation is a range of learning opportunities e.g. Creative studies, Art, Music Drama. Life Skills, Community Trips and Gardening. The Centre has developed its information learning technology to support communication and has an interactive sensory room. The staff team includes lecturers and Inclusion workers who ensure all learners receive a personalised approach to learning in a safe environment. HumberstoneLayton Training Centre(Map)Courses and Training: ESOL, ABE and Community Partnerships Layton Training Centre offers a variety of short introductory courses for adults, including English, Maths, ESOL, Construction, Computing, Employability Skills and many more. All courses are accredited and recognised nationally by employers and education providers. The centre has a welcoming, friendly environment and is open Monday to Friday throughout the year. Retail CentreRetail Skills Centre Leicester (Map)As a member of the National Skills Academy for Retail, the Retail Skills Centre Leicester is part of the UK's largest network of retail skills shops. Opened in 2009 and located in the heart of Leicester city centre, the dedicated premises are used to deliver training to employees in the Retail sector with the aim of improving the region's workforce. The team at Bede Island Centre are experts at preparing learners for life in the workplace. With a range of courses to develop your skills, or uncover ones you didn’t realise you had, the Centre is the place to identify your talents. The Bede Island Centre also offers a range of English for Speakers of Other Languages courses. It’s a friendly place to study. You can decide how much, or how little, you want to learn. We aim to run courses that suit you and your lifestyle. People who use the centre find they make new friends and build up their confidence. West EndFosse Neighbourhood Centre (Map)Courses and Training: Skills for Life, ESOL, Workforce Based in the heart of the West End, Fosse Neighbourhood Centre is a true community hub. It includes a SureStart centre, baby clinic, toddler groups, slimming classes, art classes, library and much more. It is the perfect venue for our Outreach. Learning at the centre is not just about gaining knowledge or developing your skills it is also about making new friends and building your confidence. Staff at the Centre care passionately about the learners who use it. It is a friendly place to study and you can decide how much, or how little, you want to learn. We run courses that suit you and your lifestyle, with morning, afternoon and evening slots to choose from. The courses are for everyone aged 17 to 107. The centre specialises in English, maths and IT. It also runs courses, which see employees of organisations develop their skills to progress in their jobs. |
