Student Liaison Team

The Student Liaison Team are concerned with the parts of student life outside of lessons, whether it’s putting on sports sessions for you or making sure you have your say on things that matter around the College.

The main areas the Student Liaison Team are involved in, are:

Learner Voice

The College values the input of learners and has learners taking part in decision-making around the College at all levels. The Student Liaison Team runs this system, so if you are involved as a Course Representative or as part of the Student Union or one of the other Learner Voice systems, you are bound to come across them. Have a say through the following:

Course Representatives
Two reps are usually elected per course. You may take part in anything from helping run your class, to sitting in on staff interview panels and representing your views on Governors’ panels.

Student Union
The Student Union are elected by the students’, for the students’. They are made up of students who have put themselves forward to help make your time at College an enjoyable one. They receive a small grant from the College and have an office at APC and FPC.

HE Student Forum
This is a regular forum of all the HE Course Representatives who come together to duscuss matters of HE at the College.

Student Governors
Did you know that there are two students who sit on the Governing Board? These students are voted in by you, and have full voting rights about what happens in your College.

Enrichment

There are various social activities for you to take part in during your time at College, so make sure you keep your eye on the noticeboards for what’s coming up next. Some of the things the Student Liaison Team run, are:

  • Freshers’ Fair
  • sports (eg football, basketball, street dance, box-fit, table tennis)
  • outdoor activities (eg walking, cycling, climbing)
  • trips (eg Alton Towers, Kite surfing)
  • residentials (eg Scotland, Cardiff)

There are various other places you may see us, from tutorials, roadshows, awareness events, to one of the social spaces. We are led by what YOU want, so if there is a particular trip or activity you would like to do, please pop in and see us. Alternatively, you can contact us on 0116 224 2240.
