Do I need an interview?
For some courses the tutor will conduct interviews in order to assess whether you have chosen the right course for you and you are able to cope with the content of the course. After you have submitted an application form you will receive details by post telling you when and where the interviews will take place. If the guide says “enrol by post or telephone” you can telephone the college on 0116 224 2240 and enrol immediately using a credit or debit card or alternatively complete an enrolment form and post it to the college enclosing a cheque or card details.
The course requires a portfolio, what is this?
A collection of learner’s work, usually for art, design and photography courses.
Can I do an Apprenticeship or NVQ (National Vocational Qualification)?
Apprenticeship and NVQ courses can start at any time of the year as assessments and coursework are carried out at your place of work. Please note if you are over 18 you must be employed to do these courses. If you are aged between 16 and 18 and unemployed please contact us and ask for the Apprenticeship Training Agency. Call 0116 224 2240 for more details.
What days and times will I be in College?
For full time courses timetables are issued at enrolment in August, for part time courses please check the part time course guide or call 0116 224 2240.
Can I get help with the costs of travelling to the college?
It may be possible to have a subsidised bus pass depending on where you live, the type of course you are studying and your age. Paperwork for this will be included in your college information pack.
When is the Open Day?
The College will has two Open Days during the academic year, the first is in November and the second is in March.
The event takes place at all 3 campuses, Freemen’s Park, Abbey Park and the St Margaret’s campus. Details will be displayed on our website. Please see the home page for further details.
