Adult Learning GrantFeedback

The Adult Learning Grant currently provides financial help for adult learners aged over 19, who are working toward their first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification. However, from August 2011, the scheme is changing.

The Adult Learning Grant (ALG) budget will be combined with the discretionary learner support fund (LSF), and allocated directly to colleges and training providers who will distribute grants to those learners most in need.

You can pick up an application form for the Learner Support Fund from any Student Services front desk at the College or contact us on 0116 224 2240 and ask for an application form to be posted to you.

Existing recipients

Existing ALG recipients will receive a Notice of Entitlement for 2011/12. Learners who will be continuing on their course in 2011/12 will need to bring this to College to continue to receive weekly payments from the Learner Support Service.

New applications

New applications can only be made by existing students for the academic year 2010/11. The final date for receipt of applications with the Learner Support Service is Friday 1 July 2011. No applications for the 2010/11 academic year will be accepted after this date.

You could be entitled to up to £30 a week, during term time if you are an existing learner and you apply before the 1 July 2011 deadline.
