The College has two day nurseries which have both been judged as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted inspectors.
The nursery at Freemen’s Park Campus gained the highest Ofsted grade possible in March 2011, while the Abbey Park Campus nursery received outstanding status in November 2009.
Both nurseries provide full day care for children of staff and learners, between the ages of birth and eight years.
Learners may leave their children in our care whilst on a course at the College. Our nurseries are happy and friendly places with an emphasis on promoting each child’s emotional, personal and social development. All our staff have recognised childcare qualifications and both nurseries have received independent pre-school Learning Alliance accreditation.
Through a carefully planned and exciting curriculum, we meet the diverse needs of all our children. We also respect and understand your role as the parent in your child’s care and education, and seek to develop an effective partnership with a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise.
Our policy for allocation of places operates on a first-come first-served basis with careful consideration given to children with special educational needs and those who are experiencing great difficulty with childcare. Available places are dependent upon the child’s age and sessions required.
Our nurseries usually have a waiting list and an application does not guarantee a place until confirmation is received from the nursery. Application forms are available from the nurseries. You are strongly advised to apply for College financial aid when applying for a nursery place (financial support is not guaranteed).
